Christmas Burlap Wreath Making Directions

1. Select a section of the wire wreath to start weaving the burlap ribbon. Fold the burlap in half along the width and pass the beginning end through the wire frame. Pass it over the outer ring and under the next, and then over the next ring and under the inner ring to finish. Use floral wire to attach the loose end to the wreath in the back.
2. Create a bubble effect by pulling out the working end of the burlap right next to the first row, but this time weave in the opposite direction.
3. Continue doing this until you cover the entire wreath. Secure the last end of the burlap with floral wire.
4. Fluff out some of the folded bubbles or you can leave the wreath as it is.
5. Attach the faux greenery branches and the beautiful red peonies over them to the wreath with glue or floral wire. Finish the look by gluing some colorful small foam balls.

How to Make a Burlap Wreath Directions:

1. Cut several burlap strips into 5-inch wide each. It doesn’t matter if the size is not perfect or the edges are not super neat because the imperfections will get covered when they will be wrapped around the wreath form.
2. Take a burlap strip and loop one end of it through the wreath form. Loop through the top, middle, and then the outer rim.
3. Follow this pattern as you continue weaving in across the width of the form, covering it entirely.
4. To make the wreath look fluffy, push the burlap together after looping a bit. Keep doing this throughout the weaving process. It will make the wreath look fuller and hide any sight of the wire form.
5. After finishing the weaving, secure the last end of the strip with a piece of jute twine or floral wire. Be careful that the knot is hid behind the burlap strips.
6. Now, take a look at the entire wreath and see if any part of the wire form is visible. If it is showing, hide it by fluffing out a twisted loop or stretching out another one.

1. Twist the leaf vine or wired daisies around the wreath and glue wherever it is needed to keep them attached to the frame.

1. With scissors, cut the burlap lengthwise into several strips. Make the strips 4 or 5-inch wide.
2. Take one strip and thread it in and out through each rim of the wire form while going back and forth. Make loops and tuck the ends in while overlapping them. Try to keep the size similar for each loop.
3. Crease the loops together firmly so that the wreath looks fuller. Repeat this pattern for the rest of the form.
4. See if there is any part of the form is visible. In that case, fluff out the loops and rearrange the burlap to conceal the wire form completely behind it.
5. Cut the loose stray strands of burlap those are hanging around after tucking in the ends.
6. Cut one foot of the decorative ribbon and tie around the wreath for hanging.
7. Hang it indoors, on your front door, or any shaded place outdoors!

How to Make a Patriotic Burlap Wreath Video:

Directions for a Patriotic Burlap Wreath

1. Use red burlap ribbon, blue burlap ribbon, and natural tan burlap ribbon, as it will be easier to give the wreath a patriotic touch with these colors.
2. Take the blue burlap ribbon, fold one end in thirds, and attach it to the third bar (from inside) of the frame with a piece of floral wire.
3. Your frame has nine sections distinctly separated by crossbars and each section has three openings – bottom, middle, and top. Start from the bottom opening and pull the blue ribbon through in a loop. Do the same for the other two openings.
4. After making the loop through the top opening, twist the ribbon at the bottom and make another three similar loops just next to the fist ones. Now repeat it by making a loop and pulling through the bottom, middle, and then the top opening. Keep doing this process until three successive sections are weaved with the blue ribbon. Secure the last end of the ribbon to the frame with floral wire.
5. Weave the next section of the frame with the tan burlap ribbon. After that, use red burlap for weaving the section next to it.
   Take turns with tan and red burlap ribbons until the entire frame is weaved.
   Be sure to push the loops to the side so that you can add more. It will give the wreath a fuller look. When the wreath is complete, try to fluff the loops a bit, so that the wreath looks good and full.
6. Make sure that there is no visible floral wire. Stretch or fluff the loops to cover any such visible part.
7. Glue the white stars to the blue part of the ribbon in a sporadic manner. Make a bow with the yellow ribbon and glue it too to the blue part.

1. Cut the burlap into squares. Make sure they are of the same size.

5. If some of the red burlap runs out halfway, secure the second roll with twine and continue from where you left off.

8. Hang your wreath on the door, on the mantel, or on a window.

• 12 inch Wire Wreath Frame Form: (Ideas for Types of Wire Frames – Heart Wire Wreath Frame, Square Wire Wreath Frame, Star Wire Wreath Frame)
• 6 Black Pipe Cleaners cut into 6″ pieces
• Wired Ribbon, 2-1/2-Inch Natural Color
• Leaves and flowers to decorate if you’d like to add after the wreath is completed
• Hot Glue Gun with Glue Sticks – to attach leaves and flowers

Directions for Making a Burlap Wreath:

1. Use one end of the burlap ribbon to make a knot around the wire wreath. You can also secure the burlap with a piece of string or pipe cleaner.

2. Push the burlap into one of the sections of the form. Be sure to twist it so that the loop is sideways (this ensures that the wire wreath form is covered).

3. Continue making loops but make sure that the next “bubble” in the wreath is next to the one you just did. This helps hold the previous loop in place. Keep the loops even in size as you push the burlap through the form.

For a more uniform wreath keep the bubbles or loops even

4. Continue making loops until the wreath is as full as you want. You can make all your “bubbles” the same size or vary the size for a more asymmetrical finished burlap wreath.

5. Cut off the burlap if you have extra.

6. Make another knot to complete the wreath or tuck the end into the bubbles.

7. Use pipe cleaners to keep the burlap in place on the back of the wreath.

Extra Tips for your Burlap Wreath Tutorial:

Depending on if you want to embellish your wreath with flowers or bows you can hot glue on your accessories or you can create your own bow from Wired Ribbon, 2-1/2-Inch Natural Color.

If you follow home décor trends, you must know that burlap has been popular for a while. It’s used in home interiors and even in weddings. If you love natural colored burlap but want to try using colored burlap ribbon. Follow this burlap wreath tutorial for the best outcome.

How to Make a Burlap Wreath with Colored Ribbon

Wreath Making Supplies

12-inch wire wreath frame

12 pieces of pipe cleaners (or strings of jute twine)

Colored burlap ribbon (5 inches wide, 10 yards long)

Your color choice of wired ribbon or artificial flowers

Wreath Making Directions:

1. Unroll a few feet of your burlap ribbon. Fold it in half and secure it to the wreath with a pipe cleaner or jute twine.
2. Loop the burlap through the wreath’s inner section and then back again. Flip the wreath frame over and secure the burlap again with the twine (make a loop and knot it to secure).
3. Loop the burlap through the inner section and cover the knot. Loop it again through the middle section of the wreath. Make a third loop on the third section of the wreath.
4. Push the loops to make sure they are even.
5. Repeat this process again to make more burlap loops.
6. Secure the burlap ribbon after making 3 rows of 3 loops.
7. When you get to the end of the wreath frame, pull the burlap ribbon through to ensure there aren’t any gaps.
8. Cut the burlap ribbon and secure it with jute twine.
9. Make a loop with the wired ribbon. Twist it and make another loop. Repeat this process to make 4-6 more loops. Secure the loops with a pipe cleaner. Spread out the loops to make them fluffy.
10. Secure the ribbon to the wreath with a pipe cleaner.
