Directions
- Drill a hole through the center of the long side of each cork.
- Slide the corks one by one onto the piece of wire.
- Push the corks closely together and make sure you will have about 12 inches of wire left on each end.
- Bring the two ends together and twist the strands into each other, so you will be left with one bigger but shorter strand.
- Now twist the two wire ends together tightly close to the corks.
- Bend the strand into two even parts and lay them down parallel to each other. Twist the strands again into each other, so you will end up with again a shorter but bigger strand. Make sure to twist the strands evenly and tightly.
- After completing these steps, you should have some 12 inches of wire left on the end of the big strand. You have to take the end of this wire and tuck it into the opposite end of the strand in order to create a close circle – your wreath. Pull it tight end twist the ends of the wire to secure everything and bring the corks closely together.
- Trim any excess wire and bend your creation in order to get a nice round circle. If there are any not so tight areas on your wreath, use a little more wire to tighten them.
- For hanging, use the wire of the wreath or create a loop with some more wire or ribbon.

No matter what’s the occasion, the Cork Wreath can be dressed up to fit. Use ribbons or burlap to beautify it if you want, or choose other natural or faux items, such as dried flowers, berries, leafs or grapes. Red, green and natural colors look best with corks, but why not go ahead and try something bolder like purple or blue? Whatever you’ll choose, it will be a wreath you will enjoy for a long time over and over again.

I absolutely love this idea!
These are lovely. I better get drinking. 😉
There’s always a good excuse to drink more wine!
This is a lovely wreath! I would love to make one of these sometime! Pinning!
Thanks Raquel!
I have so many wine corks and I have seen many versions of cork wreaths, but these are the best.
Thanks for sharing at Wake Up Wednesday,

Thanks so much Bev for having me! 🙂
My wreath won’t hold its shape when I pick it up…any suggestions? Do I need to use thicker wire?
Colleen I’ve noticed wire doesn’t bend easily when you use too heavy or too many materials. I would suggest instead of the wire version consider getting a styrofoam wreath form and hot gluing the corks on to the form. These hold their shape and will last over the years if you decide to store it when out of season. Hope this helped! 🙂
Wow! Thanks for the quick reply! I was drawn to the braided look of the wire wreath so I was hoping to make that one work. I followed the tutorial but it’s looking like I’ll have to attach it to a wire frame to be able to hang it.
love your ideas…your work is beautiful..thanks for posting
